I related to the irony in the making of bonsai trees; controlling where its growth travels using metal and rubber to create an artificial beauty. I enjoy the beauty in the unruliness and challenging a sense of flourishing that happens in embracing the wild and the defiant.
Behind the surface lies a mirror portal reflecting 3 different Kapre creatures and winding branches of the bonsai that begin to stretch outwards. The mirror is an act of invitation for viewers to take a peek into their world, voyeuristic in nature, as you watch them watch their favourite TV show.
